Taiga Blues is Olga Zalogina’s fourth volume of poetry. Although modern in language, style, and content, the poems in this book pay homage to the long tradition of Russian poetry. Zalogina, at times, alludes to the work of her predecessors as though she is speaking of old friends.

Zalogina’s poetry, while rooted in Russian cultural tradition, Russian in language, feelings, and themes, extends beyond the Russian border. She writes of the human condition and the human spirit in a dangeorus time for all of us.
